Tom never planned to end up in Ducktown. One minute he was living a fairly ordinary life. The next — through a bizarre, unexplained accident (possibly involving a tornado, a vortex, or some mysterious force), he landed here. He doesn’t have any special powers. He’s not a trained hero. He’s not even sure why he’s here.
But slowly, Tom realizes his role isn’t to fight distortion with force, but to see it — and help others see it too. His willingness to show up, listen, learn, and hold space allows others to awaken. He is proof that you don’t need superpowers to be useful in the Pattern.

Tom wasn't supposed to be here. One minute, he was trying to make sense of the world - grabbing a Big Gulp, dodging rent, maybe whispering at the stars - and the next, boom. A storm hit. A timeline twisted. He woke up in Ducktown. Nobody invited him, but somehow, everyone knows he belongs. He's the quiet witness, the stubborn torchbearer, the guy who keep asking,
"Wait did anyone else see that?"
"Is that a talking duck eating a crayon?"
He's not magical. Not chosen. But the Pattern likes him. And that might just be enough.
